HIV Awareness, Prevention, Care and Treatment

JASMYN actively participates in a number of HIV Planning Bodies:

  • Metropolitan Jacksonville Area HIV Health Services Planning Council

    • Continuum of Care Coordination Committee (now includes the Duval County Ending the HIV Epidemic Workgroup)

    • Ad Hoc Integrated Comprehensive Plan Writing Team

    • Executive Committee

    • Ad Hoc Needs Assessment Committee

    • Ad Hoc Assessment of Efficiency of the Administrative Mechanism Committee

    • Other activities as able

  • Florida Comprehensive Planning Network Prevention and Patient Care Planning Group

    • Needs Assessment Committee

    • Coordination of Efforts Committee (as able)

  • First Coast Community AIDS Prevention Partnership (FCCAPP)

    • Prevention Committee

    • Leadership Committee

  • Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP)

JASMYN is involved in a number of Coalitions and Advocacy groups advocating for specific policy changes related to HIV/AIDS:

  • Florida HIV/AIDS Advocacy Network (FHAAN)

  • Florida HIV Justice Coalition (seeks to modernize Florida’s law that currently criminalizes HIV non-disclosure regardless of intent or actual transmission)

  • A coalition working towards the adoption of Safe Syringe Program legislation in Duval County.
